But the day after the pictures were taken, Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya made a surprising admission about their dance practice.
It all unfolded as the pair appeared on BBC Two show It Takes Two to be interviewed by Zoe Ball.
In the chat, Katya revealed how she had spent more hours with Seann than any of her previous dance partners.
“We do so many hours. This is the most amount of hours I’ve done with any of my partners,” she said.
She even told Zoe how the two of them would be back to rehearsals that same evening.
“We’re going to come back tonight again and continue until 10pm,” she added.
Katya is married to fellow professional dancer Neil Jones, whom she referenced in a statement released after the pictures were published.
She posted to her 48,000 Twitter followers: “I’m so sorry about any offence or hurt I may have caused with my actions.
“I wasn’t thinking and it was a one-off mistake after some drinks.
“I love my husband and we are very happy together, this is not a reflection on our relationship.”
Meanwhile, Seann also wrote a message to his 104,000 followers.
The comedian’s note read: “In light of the story in today’s newspaper I would like to offer my sincere apologies for my actions.
“This is no excuse but it was a one-off drunken mistake which I am truly sorry for.”
While Seann was in relationship with actress Rebecca Humphries when the story broke, she announced she had left him in a statement published yesterday evening.
In the announcement shared in view of her 26,200 followers, Rebecca said she had previously questioned him about is “inappropriate” behaviour.
“We spoke and I told him, not for the first time, that his actions over the past three weeks had led me to believe something inappropriate was going on,” Rebecca posted to Twitter.
“But – this whole business has served to remind me that I am a strong, capable person who is now free; and no victim.”
Rebecca concluded by saying: “I hope he gets what he wants from this. I’m not sorry I took the cat though. Love, Rebecca.”
Seann and Katya will be back on the dance floor this Saturday to tackle a Charleston.
Strictly Come Dancing 2018 continues Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
