Riverdale season 3 spoilers: Writer reveals HUGE flashback detail YOU missed | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

In tonight’s , fans will go back in time to find out what Betty Cooper (played by Lili Reinhart) and Archie Andrews’ (KPJ Apa) parents were like in school.

The young stars will take on the role of their onscreen parents and one scene in particular is sure to shock viewers.

One scene will see actors Cole Sprouse, who stars as Jughead Jones but tonight will portray his father FP, and KJ, who stars as Archie but will play father Fred, streaking.

The moment was teased on writer Roberto’s Twitter page with the caption: “Some things were different back then…

“Others, not so much… This Wednesday’s #Riverdale is an unmissable blast from the past.

“Teen FP and Teen Fred streaking, because why not?”

While the post no doubt sent fans into a frenzy, Roberto went on to tease a steamy detail fans might miss.

He told Entertainment Weekly: “We wanted to kind of have them do in the past more traditional, innocent, stupid high school things so we came up with the idea of streaking.”

Roberto added fans should pay close attention when the scene airs.

“They are streaking in front of a glass cabinet,” he continued.

“It used to be that you could catch a certain reflection in that glass cabinet.

“I believe that it has been brushed out in editing, but eagle eyes should keep an eye out for it.”

The flashback is a major plot point as viewers will finally find out why KP Jones and Alice Cooper (Madchen Amick) are so keen to stop the youngsters from playing Gryphons and Gargoyles.

The game has led to the death of two Riverdale High students and looks set to claim the lives of many more.

Roberto explained its significance saying it will reveal a lot of answers about why it is so dangerous.

“The mystery we’re telling, which is swirling around Gryphons & Gargoyles, we decided to weave the parents further into that story,” explained.

“We wanted it to be the sins of the parents visited upon the kids, and we wanted to have the parents having played the game in high school.

“It felt like to make that real this could be a great opportunity to do the flashback.”

What really happened in the past and how will it affect the Riverdale High students of today? Fans will just have to wait and see.

Riverdale season 3 is available to stream on Netflix.
