Lucifer season four has been the topic of conversation since lead actor Tom Ellis and the production team suggested the show would move to another network.
Now, Tom has shared a picture on Twitter from his meeting with producer Joe Henderson, hinting season four of Lucifer could be on the cards.
The photo of the pair looking rather mischievous was captioned: “Plotting devilish things with @tomellis17 #SaveLucifer #PickUpLucifer.”
Within a matter of minutes, fans flocked to the thread to share their theories on what the cryptic post could mean.
One exclaimed: “OMG PLEASE BE TALKING ABOUT WHAT NETWORK OR SERVICE IS ABOUT TO #SaveLucifer #PickUpLucifer.”(sic)
Another said: “Well if I’m to read between the lines I’d say you are plotting season four storylines and character developments #SaveLucifer #PickUpLucifer.”
A third added: “Lucifer, you are talking about Lucifer. Never stop talking about Lucifer.”
Others could not contain their excitement at the slight possibility of Lucifer season four, with one tweeting: “Whatever it is? I can’t wait to hear about it!”
A second asked: “Wait so if you’re plotting for season four (I assume) then does that mean you’re close to a deal with a studio? Does that mean #SaveLucifer #PickUpLucifer might happen soon?”
The series finale of Lucifer ended with a cliffhanger on Monday night that saw Chloe Decker (played by Lauren German) finally see Lucifer’s devil face.
Hours later executive producers and co-showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich revealed what they had planned for season four.
Speaking about the finale episode, Joe explained: “As you saw in the finale, Chloe saw Lucifer’s devil face.
“Finally, proof that Lucifer really is who he said he was. No turning back. Chloe knows the truth.”
Teasing the season four plot, he added: “So that was the big thrust of season four – exploring Chloe dealing with those ramifications.
“How it affected her relationship with Lucifer. Both professionally and personally. Can you work with the Devil? Can you love the devil?”
Producers also planned to introduce a new and intriguing character in season four, who would shake things up for Lucifer.
Ildy told US publication Deadline: “We also had an exciting character from Lucifer’s past who was going to come in and mix everything up.
“A very personal, intimate figure who we won’t reveal the identity of yet until we find out if we get the chance to tell the tale on a new network.”
Lucifer season 1-3 are available to watch on Amazon Prime.
