The Australian Strictly Come Dancing pro, 29, who joined the series last year, was previously paired up with musician, writer and vicar Reverend Richard, 56.
YouTube star Joe, 27, and Dianne appeared on It Takes Two to debrief last week’s impressive American Smooth and keep fans up to date on how training for the Cha Cha Cha has been going.
Host Zoe Ball, 47, had a special message from the Reverend for the duo, introducing a clip in which he said: “Joe my darling, you are fab-u-lous.
“Loved your footwork, I thought your hands were beautifully positioned and I believed in your storytelling.”
However, he then proceeded with deadpan humour: “But Di, what on earth is happening with you, love?
“Have you forgotten everything I taught you just a year ago?,” he continued, as Dianne fell about laughing on the It Takes Two sofa.
“I, the Lord of the Dance, you, a willing young neophyte.
“Pick your feet up Di. Joe deserves better,” Reverend Richard quipped, before adding sweetly: “Best of luck to you both, lots of love.”
Dianne was delighted with the message, telling Zoe: “My night is made.”
The pair then revealed how the Cha Cha Cha was coming on, with Joe saying tentatively: “It’s going well. It’s getting there.”
He also demonstrated his hip action, getting up to show off his newly acquired technique.
Last weekend, Joe and Dianne scored an admirable 26 points for their High School Musical-themed American Smooth.
Bruno Tonioli, 62, praised him at the end of the routine, saying: “You’re definitely not just a one-trick pony; you can Ballroom!
“You have natural instinct for the music,” he added, complimenting the social media star’s phrasing.
However, he also noted: “Your bum sticks out sometimes.”
Craig Revel Horwood, 53, agreed, telling Joe: “Your posture definitely lets you down. That little bottom of yours, what little there is, really does stick out quite a lot so you need to tuck that baby under.”
Also full of positive feedback for the Strictly hopeful, he said: “I love watching you dance,”
Meanwhile, Darcey Bussell, 49, told Joe he had “all the attributes of being a fairly good Ballroom dancer”.
On It Takes Two, Joe later admitted: “I loved it. It’s such a beautiful style of dance and it looks great watching it back, except for, obviously, the bum.”
Tonight, he tackles the Cha Cha Cha when he and Dianne continue their bid to stay in the competition and out of the dreaded dance off.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 6.40pm on BBC One.
