Sheridan has been quite public with her personal battles, having lost her father in 2016 and the impact it had on her mental health before and after.
The ITV presenter admitted Sheridan has shown a vulnerable side to her which many people in the public eye do not tend to show.
However, when the actress initially cancelled her tour dates towards the end of 2016, she did receive a public backlash as she withdrew from the public eye.
Sheridan told Lorraine: “I did get a bit of backlash.
“I totally had a breakdown and unfortunately because I was spiralling out of control and making mistakes, there are things I really regret because I wasn’t in the right frame of mind.”
The actress also revealed how she get she wasn’t good enough to perform and does tend to get nervous before making public appearances.
After appearing in the stage production of Legally Blonde in the starring role, Sheridan said she felt like she was living with “imposter syndrome”.
She said the stage production made her anxiety worse and explained: “When it’s something like being on-stage and acting, then I’m fine.
“That’s why I like doing roles like Cilla and Mrs Biggs, their mannerisms and they’re removed from me. It’s quite scary, but going out on stage is what I love.”
