The 47-year-old told her editor she didn’t wasn’t to risk her answer to the proposition being heard or recorded.
Susanna recounted: “Can we take our microphones off before I discuss whether I think that’s a good idea or not?”
Tim Lovejoy teased: “Your career was going so well then two years ago they decided to put Piers Morgan next to you…”
Susanna giggled and went on to add: “Whatever you think about him, everybody loves to talk about him and that’s not a bad thing for a television show.”
Tim replied: “At five past six you’ve already got Piers ranting about something,” as the GMB host smiled: “People often praise me for my restraint, no jury will convict.”
The Sunday Brunch duo went on to say that it was clear that Susanna and Piers are friends, prompting Susanna to gasp: “How do you know that?”
Susanna also told how she deals with her 53-year-old co-host when he is mid-rant.
She said: “My zen is in full mode. I think right at the beginning he’d be going off on one.
“Someone said to me, ‘He’s like someone who sets all these fires and I’m rushing to put them all out with a bucket of water’.
“Then sort of two years down the line I realised that if he wants to set all these fires, that’s up to him!
“He can! I just choose the ones I want to put out.”
Susanna laughed off the fact she struggles to “get a word in edgeways”.
She teased: “I’ll eye-roll into a different dimension because sometimes I can’t actually get a word in edgeways.
“So it is I think a lot about the body language. The thing is, he says what lots and lots of people are thinking.
“Sometimes I’ll listen to him and I’ll go, ‘That is absolutely outrageous and you’ve crossed a line’.
“Then he’ll say, ‘Let’s commission a poll! Let’s get a poll on this!”
Susanna noted: “And it will be 97 per cent of people will agree with him. And three per cent of people will agree with my eye-roll. So actually, sometimes I’m fighting a losing battle here.”
