Gogglebox aired another hilarious episode earlier tonight as the cast sat down to watch a variety of television.
However, it all seemed to get a little bit too much for Mary, who was sitting alongside her husband Giles Wood, watching an instalment of the news.
The segment saw a clip of the first man who swam around the coast of Britain, and explained how he had been joined by hundreds of fellow swimmers for his last kilometre.
And this particular story moved Mary to tears.
“It’s so sweet,” she commented, before adding: “It’s like when the Royal Yacht Britannia used to comeback to Britain after a world tour, lots of small boats when out to meet the Queen.”
Remembering this iconic moment, Mary felt emotionally pulled and as her voice broke, she began to blubber.
Giles interrupted her and said: “Steady Mary, steady now.”
“And come in with her,” Mary trailed off before wiping tears from her eyes.
“Don’t you think that was moving?” she added and Giles replied: “Very moving Mary.”
“But I wouldn’t get myself worked up about it,” he comforted.
Clearly trying to change the subject, Giles gently said: “Do you think you’re living in the wrong era?”
“Yes. I should have been born 20 years earlier,” Mary remarked.
“You should have been born a hundred years ago,” her husband commented and it seemed to have cheered her up because she fell about laughing.
Elsewhere in the episode, several families sat down to watch The Haunting of Hill House.
During dark several moments, the cast jumped as ghosts appeared out of nowhere onto their screens.
Those watching Gogglebox, thoroughly enjoyed watching their reactions.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: “#Gogglebox the funniest funniest episode tonight!! Literally laughed SO much.”
“#Gogglebox never ever screamed or laughed so much. What a great cast! So funny,” another said.
A third added: “#Gogglebox never fails to make me light but tonight was extra good.”
Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
