Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers Jon Snow Targaryen fate revealed in season four scene | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Game of Thrones fans are a dedicated bunch who seem to be aware of every movement in the HBO series.

One character they have been keeping their eyes on in particular is Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington).

The King of the North is about to find out he is actually a Targaryen, despite spending his whole life believing he was a bastard.

However, Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) knows the truth and it’s a good chance he will tell his friend the truth in the coming weeks.

But it seems one eagle-eyed Reddit fan has spotted Jon’s fate from many seasons ago.

Back in the fourth series of Game of Thrones, Jon said goodbye to his lover, Ygritte (Rose Leslie).

In the tragic death scene, the northern hero comforted the Wildling as she passed away, but according to Reddit user, marsel_zdr, the scene had other significance.

They wrote: “I don’t know if anyone has noticed this but when Ygritte was dying and this shot panned out, the background is split between fire and snow.

“It looks like the fire is fore Ygritte – kissed by fire – and then the ice-snow on the other side is for Jon.”

Jon is a combination of fire and ice, with the Stark side of him being represented in the cold and the Targaryen side in the heat.

It all comes from his true parentage. Lyanna Stark (Aisling Franciosi) and Rhaegar Targaryen (Wilf Scolding) had a secret affair, resulting in his birth.

But with the pair dead, Jon’s heritage was kept a secret, with Ned Stark (Sean Bean) taking the wrap, and taking him on as his own.

Furthermore, this lends weight to the fact he could be Azor Ahai, the prince that was promised.

The legendary figure is believed to be the one to put an end to the Night King (Vladimir Furdik).

And good news for Jon, they are born of ice and fire.

Furthermore, it is thought they will kill their lover in order to gain a mythical sword used to kill the Night King.

Should this prophecy come true for Jon, it means he will almost certainly have to kill Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

The pair hooked up at the end of season seven as it seems they will develop a relationship in season eight.

But will it all end in tragedy for Jon Snow?

Game of Thrones season eight airs next year on HBO and Sky Atlantic. Seasons 1-7 are available to stream on NOWTV.
