Fear and killings on the rise in Duterte’s war on drugs | Philippines News

After two years of a violent “war on drugs” in the Philippines, thousands of people are dead and much of the population live in fear of the police.

The policy has been personally driven by President Rodrigo Duterte, who’s now facing prosecution at the International Criminal Court.

With Duterte’s term half over and human rights groups continuing their investigations, some police are less willing to take part in the anti-drug campaign.

But the families who have already lost loved ones just want a proper investigation into the deaths.

Al Jazeera’s Jamela Alindogan has this report from Cebu, in the central Philippines.
