Emmerdale spoilers: Sam Dingle attacked and Belle Dingle discovers him  | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Emmerdale is set to turn up the heat this week with Lachlan White’s (played by Thomas Atkinson) storyline, when Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) uncovers Sam’s (James Hooton) seemingly lifeless body.

Following Sam’s discovery of a body in Lachlan’s boot, his life is now in danger and viewers will be left fearing the worst for the fan-favourite character.

Caught in the crossfire, Belle finds a jacket belonging to Lachlan covered in blood and demands answers.

As Lachlan struggles to explain everything that has led up to this point, Belle pleads with her boyfriend to tell her where Sam is, fearing it is his blood on the clothing.

Panicking, Belle scrambles to the door, but Lachlan catches up with her and the pair struggle.

Eventually Belle manages to escape free from his hold and searches the farm for Sam, hoping he is safe.

However, what she uncovers is set to change her relationship with Lachlan forever.

Lying on the floor lifeless and not responding to Belle, viewers will see Sam covered in blood following a strike to his head.

What happened to him? Is he dead and is Lachlan responsible?

Belle will also find herself in danger when Lachlan orders her to leave the village with him and start a new life together. Will she go, or what will happen to her if she doesn’t?

Fans have predicted Sam would be Lachlan’s next victim and took to Twitter to express their concern for the character.

One said: “More worried for Sam if I’m honest!”

Whilst another added: ““So I’m guessing Lachlan hurts Sam?”

“I think Lachlan will fear the con man’s body will be found in the woods so Lachlan digs him up, tries to dispose of him again, Sam sees the body and all hell breaks loose. #Emmerdale,” a third theorised.

Nevertheless, Emmerdale viewers are still waiting for the moment Rebecca White (Emily Head) reappears.

She has been gone from scenes for the last few weeks after she was kidnapped and held hostage by her nephew.

And this week, fans are hoping she will come back alive and expose Lachlan for all of his murderous crimes, once and for all.

Elsewhere in the village, Misty (Hedydd Dylan) is set to leave Emmerdale with boyfriend Rodney Balckstock (Patrick Mower).

Unimpressed by the idea, Rodney’s daughters Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) and Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) have been trying to convince their Misty to leave without their father.

In upcoming scenes they will conjure a plan to reveal to Misty, Rodney isn’t well enough to travel to Thailand.

But will she be convinced?

Emmerdale returns tonight at 7pm on ITV.
